Newcastle Distributors commits $15 Million to Charity and Philanthropic Programs over Next Two Years

Oct. 7, 2012 - PRLog -- Newcastle Distributors announced today an additional two-year, $25-million commitment to several philanthropic programs worldwide. Over the years Newcastle Distributors has donated to over forty different charities, all must be nominated by Newcastle Distributors' employees in order to be eligible to receive funding.

“I want to thank all of the charities for their hard work and dedication,” Charles Worthington, President and CEO of Newcastle Distributors, said. “Their enthusiasm and commitment are making a difference in many local communities across the country. We’re proud that Newcastle Distributors is empowering them to do so.”

As of October 2012, Newcastle Distributors has donated close to $5 Million to organizations and causes such as, Cheerful Childhood, Citizens against Cancer, Nature Conservancy and many more.

Maggie Janssen, Chairman of Cheerful Childhood, said: "Support from companies like Newcastle Distributors is important to us, as we rely almost entirely on fundraising to care for our children and families. There is an overwhelming need for new centres everywhere and we are delighted that the staff at Newcastle Distributors have taken our charity to their hearts and will be working with us in a fantastic year of fundraising. Thank you to everyone at Newcastle Distributors for helping us to improve the lives of the abandoned children."

To be eligible for the program, charities have to be a registered 501(c)(3) public nonprofit, have annual operating expenses from $1 million to no more than $10 million and meet other requirements as described in the program’s rules. While this program is geared toward medium-sized charities, our plans for the next program will focus on smaller charities with annual operating expenses of $1 million or less.
