How To Check Veneer And Solid Wood?

Sept. 12, 2012 - PRLog -- On the market it is hard to distinguish the veneer and solid wood. Some seller always marked  the veneer as solid wood veneer, this is playing the game of word.
Here we would like to list the difference of veneer and solid wood furniture.
1, check the grain on the furniture surface. If the grain is the same on the surface. It must be veneer. But if not, some time it is solid wood.but now some producer try to make the same thing as solid wood. They mess the grain on the surface.
2,Check the cross section on the end. If the cross section is the year grain, it must be solid wood. If not, it must be veneer.
3,Check the construction of the furniture, if the construction is made by mortise and tenon. The furniture sometime is made from solid wood. If the furniture is made by hardware. Some time it is screw, sometime it is veneer.
Sometime solid wood can make different sharp, but the veneer board just can make the straight sharp.but some time some bentwood can make the sharp.
4,Check the surface, if there are some knot on it, it sometime is solid wood furniture, if no, sometime it is veneer furniture.
5,Check the board from both side. If the grain is the same. OK, it is solid wood furniture, if not, veneer must be.
6,Check the leg of the furniture, if the legs are a board like a wall, that is veneer board sometime.
7,Sometime some board is made by finger joint board. Not the real solid wood.
