Decline in Circumcision Rates May Increase Risk of HPV Infection Later in Life

The CBCD doesn’t find this result all that surprising since circumcision has been controversial since the 1970s when the rate of procedures began to decline. In today’s world, only some 55 percent of the 2 million baby boys born each year are circumcised. Compare that to a peak of 79 percent in the 1970s and 1980s.
