IEEE Computer Society Launches Expanded Computing Now Site

Sept. 4, 2012 - PRLog -- LOS ALAMITOS, Calif., 30 August 2012 – And multimedia, has added targeted channels, industry-focused articles, weekly polls, leading bloggers, and solutions centers.

Adding industry articles and other new features to Computing Now's deep bench of news, multimedia, and peer-reviewed research will greatly increase the site's appeal as the online destination for computing technology leaders.

"When we launched Computing Now in 2008, our goal was to provide readers and subscribers with online access to the IEEE Computer Society's high-quality print periodicals," said Computing Now founder Dejan Milojicic, senior researcher at HP Labs. "Thanks to the devoted efforts and innovative drive of volunteers and staff, the site has evolved into a central hub for members of the computing profession and the basis for IEEE Computer Society social networking strategy. The site's expansion will open it up to an ever wider audience of technology leaders."

* Software development.
 
Solutions-oriented articles and case studies by industry leaders from Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, NASA Ames Research Center, Siemens, Vitesse Semiconductor, and other companies will help visitors find real-world solutions and applications for current technology. The audience will range from C-level executives to software developers, networking and security experts, and other computing professionals.

Industry-leading bloggers will keep their fingers on the pulse with frequent dispatches from their corners of the quickly changing technology world. Among them will be:
