Follow on Google News | "The God Particle" Why it Matters To The Average PersonBy: Ken Stepp In 1964 Dr Peter Higgs developed and wrote about a theory of how mass, objects. and weight came into existence. He theorized that mass was created from subatomic particles when they were energized. This would actually explain how something was created from nothing. H e also did not feel it would be proven in his lifetime. At the age of 83 he was there when they announced it to be proven fact. That had to be the best day of his life. He even spoke at the event. Located on the boarder of Switzerland and France the massive project found it's home. A reference from www.theweek.com below describes the size and cost of this massive project. ------------------------------------------------------------ The $10 billion Large Hadron Collider would be validated Atom smashing is an expensive, time-consuming business. The Large Hadron Collider, the 16-mile particle accelerator buried 300 feet underground on the border of Switzerland and France, was first conceived in the 1980s and took 10 years to complete, from 1998 to 2008 . Finding the Higgs would justify the machine's considerable $10 billion price tag and validate countless hours spent poring through data from trillions of atom smashes. "If we make such an important discovery about the universe, it's a justification for why we should be investing in these machines," says Joao Guimaraes da Costa of the ATLAS team . ------------------------------------------------------------ This discovery is as important as finding out the world is round, that we revolve around the sun, and that gravity holds us to Tara Firma. I'll explain why. The discovery was that when they excited subatomic particles mass was created. Primordial ooze as it were. This explains how nothing was there one minute and something was there the next. Yes, that is called creation or as the science community called it "The God Particle". Where according to this study everything came from. And it is an answer to so many questions. As a person that believes in a God that created everything I have also been asked how this affects what I believed before the big discovery. My answer isn't simple, it's layered. I'll explain. The science community tells us that this discovery proves quite a few things like the Earth began 4.5 billion years ago. The DNA sequence that brought human being to the form we see today has been discovered to be 6.5 billion years old or more. Certainly no less. Mankind has tried to explain away the existence of "Intelligent Design" for 3 generations or so. The professors that even mention the possibility are fired or worse. Please see this video for one such example of this.http://www.youtube.com/ Science will never intentionally search for proof of God or a creator. It is considered taboo even though many in the science community have all but proven that something or someone created what we are and what we see. I'm not going to argue theology but my faith in God never waivers when science speaks. You see science is what we call "In Process" meaning that everything is theoretical and not really fact. The God Particle discovery was announced as "almost" completely proven. I'm not even sure what that statement means. Sitting in my office pondering all this I just feel that all of these new discoveries are great, they explain things that we all wondered about but they actually tell us nothing. I have an old friend that is part of the elite thinkers community that told me once that every time they discover something new it would be easier and more logically explained by intelligent design than by evolutionary methods and main stream theories. What to do now? In simple terms do nothing. Know that science is always moving and the idea of a creator is off the table for them if they want to keep their tenure. grants, and reputations. My belief in a loving God and the control He has is unshakable and always will be. Knowledge and truth should bring people together. When any side of an idea is suppressed then it must be looked at by anyone that is actually seeking answers to questions they somehow know should be asked. End
