Sukhwinder has her first degree in Science and her second in Fashion Design where she decided to follow her dream to create a beautiful line for modern women. Sukhwinder’s design aesthetics are acute, delicate and cutting edge in color choices, fabrics and design detail. She uses sumptuous, comfortable, natural and cutting edge man made fabrics for her creations. Her prints are distinctive and one of a kind print that are developed digitally inspired by her love of painting. As a student, Sukhwinder earned an accolade in recognition of her Design excellence awarded by TDA Food and Fibers Research Grant Program, at a Fashion Design competition organized by Fashion Group International. From there, she had the highest privilege to intern with famous textile designer Zandra Rhodes from London to whom Sukhwinder attributes a lot of her influences in fabric and print design. She incorporates this enriched experience with textile patterns throughout her collection. As a designer, Sukhwinder also draws her inspiration from her early childhood filled with sensual experiences of nature, rich colors of India, countryside, beautiful culture of handicrafts, ancient works of embroidery and embellishment that once were only available to royals. Her experience of travelling and living in different countries, her observant nature to observe life, culture, love for art, design in architecture, keen eye for detail, beauty and ever evolving quest for introducing familiar with astounding individuality sums up heart of “SumSara”.
