Denver Lands New Project Management Firm: Milestone Project Management opens second office

Milestone is the largest independant project management firm in Houston, Texas and specializes in healthcare facilities. The firm recently expanded into the commercial sector to focus on large corporate projects. Milestone recruited the construction industry veteran Peterson to lead the Denver office. He will be responsible for managing current area projects, and growing Milestone’s presence in the Rocky Mountain region.

Peterson’s work history has been hands-on construction management, most recently at Heery International. Over the past 25+ years, he has overseen more than 1,700 projects that totalled over $1.5 billion in construction costs. These projects included facilities for healthcare, retail, high tech, military bases, schools and more. With this experience, Peterson will focus on expanding Milestone’s portfolio of project types.

First up for Peterson is serving as Milestone’s project lead for the 73-year-old Wyoming Medical Center, which is set to receive its largest-ever renovation and addition. The $30 million project in Casper will include a new four-story tower and a new, standalone 10,000 s.f. MRI facility adjacent to the tower. The project is scheduled for a May 2014 completion.


Scott LaTulipe, AIA, Managing Partner of Milestone, sees the Wyoming Medical Center project as a coup for the first Denver office project.

“Our healthcare expertise keeps us in contact with other healthcare firms across the country,” LaTulipe said. “Our friends at Align Healthcare asked us to pursue some work with them since there is no other project management firm in Denver with our depth of experience. The Wyoming Medical Center project is the perfect first project for our Denver office. We’ll be able to demonstrate our value to owners, and it will ideally position us for future growth.”
