Acclaimed Culinary Duo Team Up In Andrews Entertainment District

Aug. 19, 2012 - PRLog -- Chef Jeffrey McGar was born and raised in Upstate NY, and has been working toward mastering the culinary arts since the age of fifteen. Chef Jeff has 23 years of experience in every aspect of the restaurant industry. He initially worked in small Italian eateries and pizza parlors progressing to “American-style” casual corporate restaurants, then on to fine dining and white table service. In 1996, Chef Jeff relocated to Atlanta just after the Olympics in search of new horizons. Here in Atlanta, Chef Jeff continued his education at the number one Platinum Club in the country for seven years: Cherokee Town and Country Club, where he began a rigorous apprenticeship program mentoring under Certified Master Chefs thereby completing his training. Chef Jeff moved on from that point to The Atlanta Event Center at Opera producing high profile corporate and social events ranging from 50 to 1500 guests. Most recently Chef Jeff started a restaurant consulting company called Food for Thought Consulting, providing solutions for existing restaurants and catering facilities as well as up starting new restaurant concepts in and around the Atlanta area. Chef Jeff has coached and competed in a multitude of competitions achieving the podium with every entry. Chef Jeff trains with and consults close friends and colleagues who participate on the U.S. Culinary Olympic team and the Bocuse d’ Or world culinary competition in France.
His goals and aspirations are to help bring Atlanta to the forefront of the cutting edge culinary scene. He will be spending the upcoming years as the Culinary Director for the Andrews Entertainment District located in the heart of Buckhead. There he will play off of Master Sushi Chef Saito Saito’s world fusion approach to sushi.  He will be creating new menus and delicious cuisine for their eight bar, restaurant and entertainment concepts, while producing multi-faceted catered events for private, social, and corporate functions throughout the venue.
Czar Ice Bar is honored to have Master Sushi Chef Saito Saito be the creative magician behind our sushi masterpieces. Born in Fuku-Shima Ken, Japan, Chef Saito is one of only a handful of “Master Chef’s” in the United States. Residing in the U.S. for the past 30 years, Saito has a loyal following of thousands of sushi lovers. Graduating from the Tokyo Chef School in Japan, and apprenticing for over 10 years, the majority of Saito’s residency was spent opening restaurants in such discerning cites as New York, Las Vegas, London, Paris, Aspen, and Hollywood. Throughout those travels he developed his fusion sauces that he uses to compliment his classically inspired sushi.
