Holding a paintbrush is as natural as using chopsticks for Xie Guoqing

Most of his early work was commercial painting, but he has started to paint original works in recent years as the market has become more demanding and greater importance has been attached to creative works.

Aug. 18, 2012 - PRLog -- "It was like operating at a manufacturer in the very starting," he said, recollecting the starting when he analyzed art for 15 to 16 time a day.
He compensated 3,000 yuan ($471) for a seasons expenses and then invested his periods next to his instructor, monitoring everything he coloured, and trying his side at the most convenient painting.
"As you see more, you have a feeling of what it is all about," he said.
His wage improved as he understood the primary abilities of oil painting. By treating the purchases his instructor allocated, he gained 300 yuan monthly at the starting of the second season, which hopped to 3,000 yuan by the end of the third season, when he could manage relatively complicated performs.
An oil artist could generate 10 periods the wage of a younger secondary university instructor in Putian when the industry was successful in the 90's.
Some of Xie's other artists were even shyly contacted by females for wedding, as they recommended their potential spouses to be in the occupation.
Xie's spouse is an oil artist, too. Painting is almost his "family business" as another six of his close relatives members have also taken up the paintbrush.
Following a three-year apprenticeship, he remaining his instructor to painting on his own, which was a typical exercise for youthful artists.
It is a job that needs effort as many paintings need to be available to make sure a reasonable wage.
"It (painting) cannot offer you with a big lot of money, but you can stay on it," he said.
And for him, there are rewards in this occupation. Enhancing his abilities, enjoying events, and getting prizes every now and then provide him a feeling of fulfillment.
He is currently active with an unique painting, trying to take it to a provincial art show.
"I've had my paintings displayed twice there. One more some time to I will get the name of provincial artist," he said.
While he prefers his oil paintings to be proven to others, he doesn't have just one one put in his own home, where all of the paintings on show are by other artists.
"I never do that," he said. "When you look back again to your paintings in previous periods, you will discover something you don't like. You are never pleased."
