PACS with no Icons--nuCore Solutions focuses on ProductivityPACS is so easy to use you can be up and runing with very minimal training. That's why nuCore Solutions made the decision to not use ICON-based PACS. By using simple, logical english text, a PACS operator can do their job well.
By: nuCore Solutions Aug. 9, 2012 - PRLog -- nuCore Solutions is offering a PACS system “sans” icons. Icons have become very popular elements in graphical user interfaces (GUIs) but not all icons have equally good usability characteristics according to the Chauncey study, “User experience Re-Mastered”
nuCore has put much thought into the design of the user interface to get PACS operators up to speed quickly and to make people more productive. http://www.youtube.com/ “We see more doctors wanting to move away from the icon-based PACS systems,” said Greg Perry, General Manager of nuCore Solutions. “Our menu items and tool bars feature ‘text-box buttons’ with recognizable word commands so that there is no ambiguity to slow down a user’s productivity, and no memory set requirement tied to a variety of icons. It is intuitive and reduces training time for new users,” Perry added. nuCore Solutions takes PACS forward in other ways as well. nuCore’ For instance, with a simple click of the mouse a user can select window-level, zoom, pan or stack/scroll. For multi-slice images (CT, MRI, US) it’s a breeze. The stack/scroll function can be operated manually or automatically (with variable user defined speeds). The mouse can also scroll through the various slices of the series, or you can move through the series one slice at a time either forward or in reverse. The system also features automatic pre-fetching so that when viewing a patient’s most recent image, ‘priors’ are represented on the menu as ‘thumbnail images’ which can be selected as needed for comparison. Other features include ‘user-defined window-level presets’ CD/DVD burning, DICOM importer and advanced functions like full annotation capability. Perry concludes with an interesting statement saying “our clients tell us that they actually use more of the available features on our software than on other systems because they can easily find the tools they are looking for.” For more information, visit the nuCore Solutions website: http://www.nucoresolutions.com To reach Greg Perry, call 360-539-8383 or Toll FREE at 866-388.5615 Email Greg Perry at greg@nucoresolutions.com End
