Irvine Ranch Water District Recognized for Financial Reporting

Irvine Ranch Water District’s Comprehensive Annual Financial Report has received a Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada for the eighth year in a row. The report ending June 30, 2011, which was also IRWD’s 50th anniversary year, received the distinction.

“This is a reflection of the professionalism and dedication of our staff for maintaining the highest quality financial reports," said Rob Jacobson, Acting Director of Finance for IRWD. “Attaining this award demonstrates IRWD’s commitment to financial transparency.”

The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting. Receiving it represents a significant accomplishment by a government agency and its management.

An award-winning CAFR demonstrates an organization's constructive "spirit of full disclosure" to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate potential users to read the document.

The CAFR contains the District’s audited financial statements and other financial information. It also contains information about the local economy, IRWD’s future financial plans, financial policies, and significant   projects. The public can access the District’s financial information online.
