GTM Sportswear Receives 3 Internationally Acclaimed Graphic Artistry Awards

MANHATTAN, KAN. – (Aug. 1, 2012) – The International Association of Printing House Craftsman (IAPHC) recently awarded GTM Sportswear® in the 37th International Gallery of Excellence competition for three print catalogs.

The competition showcased some of the finest international printed materials from around the world, including 1,400 entries from over 17 countries. GTM® received two gold awards for the 2010 and 2011 June cheer catalogs and a bronze award for the 2010 February dance catalog.

“It’s an honor to be considered for this caliber of an award and it is a testament to the teamwork here at GTM,” said Joel Versch, creative manager at GTM Sportswear. “From solid product design and project planning, to photography and graphic design, collaboration is key in the development of a catalog. All that, mixed with a strong partnership with McCormick Armstrong, has led to our success as a cataloger.”

McCormick Armstrong, GTM’s printing company headquartered in Wichita, Kansas, entered the three catalogs into the contest and presented the award results to GTM.

Each piece was evaluated by a panel of judges on design, print quality, overall appearance and binding.

“The best printing starts with good design,” said Doug Tompkins, vice president of operations at McCormick Armstrong. “The artwork is what makes a good piece a great piece. GTM is now in a very elite class of graphic arts professionals and an international force to be reckoned with.”

The design team at GTM involved in the creative production of the awarded catalogs included: Jennifer Latta, print designer, Katie VanVleet, direct mail manager, Joel Versch, creative manager, Jacki Webb, direct mail coordinator and Kari Wedel, print designer.
