Aug. 2, 2012 - PRLog -- Moms-to-be these days are much more cautious about what they put in and on their bodies while they are pregnant.
It is well known that the average nail care products contain great amounts of serious toxins in their ingredients, and conventional nail polish is basically nothing more than a refined version of automobile paint.
Nail polish especially, which contains dangerous things like formaldehyde and toluene that can cause birth defects, is a product that has been deemed a thing to avoid during pregnancy. However, many nail polish brands have been revamped over the last few years to be “safer,” and the so-called “Three-Free” classification became more common. Three-Free means the polish doesn’t contain formaldehyde, dibutyl phthlate (DBP), or toluene. Lots of commercial brands are three-free now: butter London, Deborah Lippmann, OPI and many more.

Advertising itself as “four-free,” Knocked Up Nails’ polishes bear names like Preggers in Pink, Red-E or Not Here Comes Baby, Prenatal Princess, and 18K Gold Crown (ing).
The polish formula does not contain toluene, formaldehyde, dibutyl phthalate or camphor, and is also safe for allergy sufferers, cancer patients & children.

“Like so many issues surrounding maternity, Knocked Up Nails does not wish to scare women into using our polish, however, we’ve chosen to exclude these chemicals due to reports about their effects,” Judge said in a recent email. “Our hip, modern hues are long-lasting and chip resistant, and I think customers will truly get a kick out of the names which happens to be my favorite aspect of the product,” writes nobomagazine.com.
