Why brides are packing a new ‘must-have’ iPhone app with their bikinis

A new free photography app for the iPhone is proving to be a huge hit with newlyweds using its features to create honeymoon memories that will last a lifetime.

July 19, 2012 - PRLog -- Camera Awesome has already been downloaded by millions across the globe, with honeymooners taking advantage of its filters, textures and effects to turn regular holiday snaps into photos that they will treasure forever – all with a few clicks on their iPhone.

The easy to use app has even caught the attention of top professional photographers like James McCormick, award-winning international photographer and tutor at the Lacock School of Photography in Wiltshire.

He said: “It is essential to commission a professional photographer to capture the happiest day of your life – but what about the honeymoon pictures?  The photographer won’t be around at that point but those images are just as important to the bride and groom.

“Now, with Camera Awesome, the couple can take their own great pictures and add special effects quickly and easily, creating memories they will cherish for years to come.”

Camera Awesome, which was launched  by leading photo-sharing site SmugMug, enables users to ‘awesomize’ new or existing pictures with effects and preset styles like More Wang or Goddess which add an artistic feel to the images.  Photos can then be shared to sites like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Picasa and more – allowing honeymooners to share their treasured memories right from the beach.

There’s even a ‘fast burst’ shooting option to capture images at up to 15 frames per second and a pre-record setting in video mode that starts shooting five seconds before you tap the button. So whether you’re dolphin spotting in the Caribbean or watching the world go by on the streets of Paris, you’ll never forget a moment of your dream holiday.

As well as the free filters, presets and texture settings included in the free app, there are hundreds of extra options available to buy if honeymooners are feeling extra creative. And when the happy couple returns home, their precious images can be safely auto-archived forever to online photo service SmugMug (www.smugmug.com).

Don MacAskill, Chief Geek and CEO of SmugMug, said, "The iPhone has already revolutionized the way we take photographs on a daily basis.  We built Camera Awesome because we think everyone in the world deserves a fantastic camera app that enables you to take stunning photos, edit them and share them wherever you like big, beautiful and in full resolution."
