Like last year, the students can opt for late registrations in case they could not apply within the first registration schedule. The window for the late registration opens from Wednesday, September 26, 2012 and will go on till Thursday, October 4, 2012. In this article of MBAUniverse.com, we will explore the pattern of the computer based exam and past year’s analysis. Sections & Duration As per the announcement by NMIMS this year, the pattern of the NMAT 2013 exam is likely to remain same as last year. The duration of the NMAT 2013 exam is two hours. There are three sections in the exam, Language Skills, Quantitative Skills and Logical Reasoning. The numbers of questions are 32 in Language Skills, 48 in Quantitative Skills and 40 in Logical Reasoning. The duration of the three sections are 22 minutes for Language Comprehension, 60 minutes for Quantitative Ability and 38 minutes for Logical Reasoning. There is no negative marking in NMAT. Hence you can attempt all the questions of the exam within the two hours. NMAT 2012 followed the same pattern. Hence, there will be no change in the pattern of the exam compared to last year. The computer based NMAT 2013 would be conducted by Pearson Vue. Features of the computer based NMAT While taking the exam, you can select the section you would like to start your NMAT exam with. You can also pre decide the order in which you can take the sections. The sections are time bound but you can end your section before the schedule. However, this time would not be added in the next section. Hence, it is advised that even if you have finished a section before the schedule, you spend the remaining time revising. In the NMAT exam, the candidates are allowed to take breaks during the exam. But these breaks are time bound. If you manage to finish a section before the scheduled time, you can utilize the time for your break. In the Language Comprehension section, there is no facility to highlight the text which makes it difficult to solve the Comprehension questions. NMAT 2012 Difficulty Level The difficulty level of the NMAT exam is on the easier side. NMAT 2012 saw an easier paper compared to NMAT 2011. NMAT is more about your speed than accuracy. Since there is no negative marking, you should attempt all the 120 questions within the two hours, which leaves you with one minute for each question. You should really focus on your speed and time management in the NMAT exam. Like the past two years, you are allowed to take NMAT thrice. The best of the scores will be accepted by NMIMS.
