LivingSenior.com announces expansion of their social networking options.

July 13, 2012 - PRLog -- In a recent conference with LivingSenior.com content manager, Megan Coogle, the expansion to Reddit, Scribd and Newsvine was discussed. When asked why the site chose these particular social networking sites, Ms. Coogle had the following response. “LivingSenior is already part of major social networking sites like Facebook. We found that a lot of our content staff and social marketing staff were using sites like Reddit, Scribd and Newsvine to keep up with current events and discussions surrounding them. We noticed that baby boomers were using these sites and joining in on conversations that may not appear on Facebook or Google+. We knew immediately that this is the type of community discussion we wanted LivingSenior to bring to the table.”

Ms. Coogle went on to say that LivingSenior is not just about reaching baby boomers. The site is also about reaching the children of baby boomers. “I’m in my mid-30s and my mother is part of the boomer generation. Unfortunately, too many senior living agencies lose sight of the roll my generation has when they try to reach out to the boomer generation. They do not see the need in reaching to us as well yet we are the generation that has to make the choices if our parents can’t due to illness. We are the loved ones, caregivers and decision makers the industry has to reach out to in order to reach our parents. LivingSenior did not want to fall into the trap of reaching only the senior generation. We want to reach the caregivers and loved ones as well. It’s all connected.”

The expansion will take place during the weekend of July 14, 2012 and will go live with broadcasts of updated articles, blog posts, video and other media streams from the site on July 16, 2012.
