Why It’s Important to Have Fire Extinguisher at Home

The general rule of thumb to remember is "PASS": Pull the pin, Aim low at the base of the fire, Squeeze the handle to release contents, and Sweep the nozzle while moving slowly toward the fire. Fire extinguishers are but one small part of an overall fire safety and evacuation plan. Although they are effective against small fires, they should never be used in the event of a large fire.
