Active Mother of Two Shows off Her “New Arches” after Life-changing HyProCure® Procedure
Diminishing her dream of becoming a ballerina, Wanshop's flat feet caused chronic foot, hip and back pain for most of her life.
Vanessa Wanshop and her surgeon, Dr. Drezner, shared their experiences before and after her HyProCure® procedure in a recent article published by the Reading Eagle Press, which serves the Berks County, PA community and surrounding areas.
The HyProCure® implant, developed by GraMedica®, provides a minimally invasive surgical option for patients suffering from the effects of partial talotarsal dislocation. Talotarsal displacement is a foot imbalance that throws both the foot and the entire body out of alignment. It affects people of all ages and can be the direct cause of many symptoms and secondary conditions, including overpronation/
“In Vanessa's case, she had an ankle that moved too much,” said Dr. Drezner. For five years now, Drezner has been performing this simple outpatient surgery that corrects misaligned feet with a single titanium implant. “HyProCure® keeps the ankle upright, forming an arch. That simple, but important correction not only corrects flat feet, it helps bring the entire body back in line,” Drezner explained.
In the article, Vanessa shared that she “always assumed you had to put something in under the arch to fix flat feet.” Following her first surgery, she rushed out for flip-flops the same day. She now has had both feet done. "I'm going around kicking off my shoes and showing everyone my new arches," said Vanessa.
