June 12, 2012 - PRLog -- Lakeworth, FL - June 11,2012 - AutoCricket.com worked in conjunction with the M.D.A. to put on a special event for children with muscular dystrophy and muscular degenerative disorders.

Every summer the children get to spend five nights at the Gold Coast Christian Camp enjoying events, festivities, and a tailored summer camp experience. This year AutoCricket.com was able to get involved and plan the first night of the kids’ summer experience.

The event featured a jungle theme and karaoke. AutoCricket.com volunteers decorated the recreation hall with blow up elephants, giraffes, and hung jungle green garland about the walls. Every child was given a safari hat and their own animal print sun glasses.

Refreshments provided were equally jungle themed. Everyone enjoyed aligator-ade (Lime Green) and Dirt Pudding( chocolate pudding with gummy worms and oreo styled cookie crumb topping).

D.J. Jammn’ Jim Faulhaber, from Splash Entertainment Inc, donated his time to providing the karaoke, and every participant received a gold medal. The atmosphere was incredible as so many children and staff took the stage singing their hearts out.

One boy, Christopher, gave such an incredibly moving performance, there was not a dry eye in the house. Christopher sang ‘You Raise Me Up’ by Josh Groban. Christopher’s struggle with muscular dystrophy has not silenced his beautiful voice, or ability to provide a very empowering choice of lyrical content.

The event started at 7:00 p.m. and ran until 9:30 p.m. Everyone involved had a wonderful time and the five night summer camp kicked off with inspiring energy.
MDA is the nonprofit health agency dedicated to curing muscular dystrophy, ALS and related diseases by funding worldwide research. The Association also provides comprehensive health care and support services, advocacy and education.
