PRLog -- “We moved to Dorset when the job-market got tough in Wales in 2008. We thought things would be better somehow. We were wrong,” says one Director. Just six months into their Civil Partnership, Leigh Lucas, 37 and Mark Andrew, 27 found themselves unemployed and struggling to make ends meet. "We decided to make things happen for ourselves instead of waiting around for a handout' says Mark and so the couple stuck a pin in the map, packed a bag and moved to the Dorset coast in search of inspiration.
Staying in holiday lets and taking temporary work to survive, the pair struggled to get themselves back on an even footing. Every Saturday they’d pack their bag and move on “it seemed like it would never end. All we wanted was a permanent home. But I can't be upset about it now, because it was that difficult experience which built Pickled Ruby." The hard work and harder times inspired the boys through their dreams of a permanent home and the beautiful trinkets with which they would furnish it.
Now they have created a truly wonderful online shopping experience. The product range is quirky and varied but the focus on style is evident with every click of the mouse. “We love each and every piece in this collection and we really want our customers to love them too,” says Mark Andrew, Director of Pickled Ruby “It’s amazing really. We didn’t even have a home and now I spend my days helping people to make theirs more beautiful."
