Author John Lundin launches Journey To The Heart Of The World with IndieGoGo.com

June 7, 2012 - PRLog -- IndieGoGo.com has launched a new fundraising campaign in support of JOURNEY TO THE HEART OF THE WORLD, an important new young adult fantasy novel being researched and written with the indigenous Elders of La Sierra Nevada in Colombia by John Lundin, author of THE NEW MANDALA, Eastern Wisdom for Western Living, written in collaboration with His Holiness the Dalai Lama.

Author John Lundin has announced the launch of a IndieGoGo.com video and support campaign to raise funds to support his research with the shamanic Elders of the indigenous peoples of La Sierra Nevada in Colombia. Theirs is a culture that has remained largely unchanged for five hundred years, and the Elders have asked author Lundin to live among them, receive their teachings, and to write an important new book that will present their spiritual and environmental message to a young adult audience. They are concerned about the health of the planet, and are calling upon us, the ones they call the Younger Brother, to change our ways, to fundamentally change our spiritual relationship with our Earth Mother.

JOURNEY TO THE HEART OF THE WORLD will be a young adult fantasy novel, not unlike a cross between Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings. The teenaged hero of the book will be led by talking butterflies, birds and animals, from his home in New York to his teacher in the mountains. As the spiritual and environmental teachings of his mentor unfold, our hero will experience dream-like adventures, back and forth through his past and future lives. These teachings and life experiences will bring him to a new awareness, an understanding of his purpose in life. In the end he’ll discover how he can save the world.

The new IndieGoGo.com campaign will raise funds to support the travel and supplies and translators necessary to complete the project. Supporters will receive a “reward” for their pledge, including a copy of JOURNEY TO THE HEART OF THE WORLD when published next year, plus other incentives that vary depending on the level of support.

Supporters will also be recognized in the Acknowledgment page of the book as partners in this unique initiative to make a positive difference in the future of the planet, announced author Lundin, who added, “It’s my hope that one day supporters will be able to see their grandchildren reading JOURNEY TO THE HEART OF THE WORLD, and be able to say, ‘I helped make that book happen.’”
