Offshore Forex Brokers-Where is the real risk?

June 6, 2012 - PRLog -- Being in this industry for many years I can truly say the internet paranoia some traders create and proclaim about working with "offshore brokers" are just unfounded. Now do not get me wrong, not all businesses are legit that is so, but to perceive ALL “offshore brokers” to be fraudulent and scam artists just because they opted to incorporate their businesses "offshore" are simply narrow minded and stereotyping. Most of the prominent banks have "offshore" presence across the globe. Why? The business advantages offered by these offshore jurisdictions are the main attractions to incorporate.

Although regulations do offer some degree of comfort, it surely is not the "be all and end all" for traders. Look at the recent Wall Street debacle and now the same crisis in EU, all by "regulated" entities. One can lose money with any business, regulated or not.

What is the greater risk factor then? For me the broker’s dealing policy is the greatest risk factor to any trader. Ensure you understand the broker’s dealing policy used  since this greatly enhances the trade risk on your account- if the broker is a regulated entity or not. If you trade with a “regulated” broker who utilizes an aggressive market making dealing policy, even if they offer you a 100% deposit bonus and great leverage to join, you can be sure they will trade the opposite side and this probably indicates how sure the broker is that they will recapture that money, and your account balance, in the process. NO ONE gives away FREE money!
