Baltimore Digital Media Company Graduates from Tech Incubator; Moves HQ to 19th Century Mill

June 5, 2012 - PRLog -- From the new state-of-the-art headquarters—located in a 19th century mill—Ignition72 will provide highly customized websites and other digital media products to its nationwide client base, as well as marketing services.  Ignition72 evolved out of the need to specialize in digital marketing for clients who want more than a run-of-the-mill website.  

Ignition72 recognizes the value of locating its headquarters in Baltimore, Maryland, and has worked with local legislators and advisors to make this strategic move. Utilizing the innovation technology base in Baltimore is part of Ignition72’s strategy to make its digital media services more readily available to the local community, as well as to partner with several local technology companies to meet clients’ needs.

The dedication of the new space will include local officials, current and past clients, and members of the Baltimore technology community. Also present will be guests from the Emerging Technology Center (ETC), Ignition72’s former incubator. The ETC is a non-profit business incubator program focused on growing early-stage technology and biotechnology companies in Baltimore. To graduate, companies must have received validation of their product or service, usually in the form of sales revenue, and have raised sufficient capital to sustain their business going forward. ETC Vice President of Operations Neil Davis said “Ignition72 developed a successful business model quickly and was able to grow here at the ETC. We continue to refer clients to them because of their skill at building digital products.”

Ignition72 President Stefan Muirhead noted: “This is a significant step for us. It marks the maturation of the company as well as our success with the Emerging Technology Center’s incubation program. We will continue to expand our capabilities through referrals from existing clients as well as focusing on our experience in certain target industries.”
Co-founder and Chief Technology Officer Joe Wilson said: “The area has already presented some interesting opportunities, as we have had discussions with several technology companies right here at the Mill Centre. This is a great area to find highly skilled technology workers. We look forward to partnering with other companies in this area.”

Ignition72’s clients range from large corporations such as Comcast and Marriott, to nonprofits like The Nature Conservancy, and several government agencies. The company is currently working to create animation to help publicize upcoming express lanes on I-495, and on developing a secure e-commerce site for a large defense systems contractor.
