2nd Annual MENA CIO Summit:CIO's meet in Dubai to discuss and learn about creating value for busines

June 5, 2012 - PRLog -- Fleming Gulf Conferences is hosting the 2nd Annual MENA CIO Summit on 4-5 June in Habtoor Grand Beach Resort & Spa Hotel - Dubai. Having influential speakers lined-up for the summit, the conference has set the stage for CIOs from public, private and government entities to gain valuable insight into latest industry developments and network with industry peers from across the globe.

Day one commenced at 08:45 AM with a welcome note from Fleming Gulf. At 08:55 AM Mr. Hazem Awni Jarrar- Chief Technology Officer of The King Faisal Foundation- addressed the gathering with an opening note. Mr. Mohamed Roushdy, Operations and Technology Consultant, Bank Nizwa will now be presenting on 'Managing large scale IT projects and Vendor Management'. Mr Mohamed Roushdy has more than 23 years of IT experience; of which he has served more than 12 years as a CIO in Financial Services (Conventional and Islamic). Roushdy had been working for major financial services, conglomerate and software services companies in the region.

Other topics to be covered during the day are 'Responsibility For Risk and Risk Decisions', 'Introduction of Dynamics of IT Infrastructure', 'Enterprise Architecture: How to Demonstrate Business Value', 'Developing an IT Strategy to Create IT Value', 'Virtual Market', and 'Keeping Pace with the Organisation‘s Growth and Maintaining ICT Service Quality'.

Day one will end with a case study on 'Roadmap towards implementing next generation public services' to be presented by Omer Syed, Manager at Roads and Transport Authority - UAE.

Day two of the session shall be presented by Furqan Ahmed Hashmi, Network and Security Architect at Emirates Investment Authority (EIA). His topic of discussion will be 'IT Security Controls, Infrastructure Components and their role in overall IT Strategy'.

Anamitra Roy- Chief Information Officer, IFFCO Group of Companies- opened the floor for discussion at 09:40 AM with 'Aligning your IT Strategy with Business Strategy'.

Day two shall end with a panel discussion comprising of Hazem Awni Jarrar, Omer Syed, Alok Srivastava and Ashi Sheth on 'Strategic Application of IT to drive revenue growth, service quality, improve production, and cost controls'.
