This robust fiber patching solution offers IP67 connectors for installations in harsh environments

    Fiber Connections Inc., a manufacturer of custom active and passive optical connectivity solutions, announced today that it is entering Beta testing on a new Industrial GatorPatchTM, fiber optic patch panel. The newest version of the patented GatorPatch product line features an industrial MPO connector and up to 6 Industrial duplex LC ODVA connectors.

This robust fiber patching solution offers IP67 rated connectors for installations in harsh environments and is available with an optional cover for added protection.

“Our customer came to us with a request to build something even more robust than our current GatorPatch units. They were concerned with the long term environmental effects and have had good experience with the ODVA and industrial connectors.” Hank Van Der Giessen, Regional Sales Director continues, “As soon as we showed them the first prototype, they were on board. Now we have 2 other customers discussing installation sites.”

Installation at a Beta site, in central Ontario, is set to begin later in June. Product is being used for fiber optic communications from a location with high electromagnetic interference, providing critical EMI immunity and secure, high bandwidth communications.

Full product release is currently scheduled for September, 2012.
