Follow on Google News | Vertice 360 Creates Disaster Recovery Facility for Premium Global Entertainment Brand with Vector 3Madrid-based production company Vertice 360 has installed a MultiPlay™ multichannel playout automation system from Vector 3 at the heart of a new disaster recovery and archiving facility created to provide backup for its Madrid playout center.
By: Vector3 SA Vertice 360‘s installation of Vector MultiPlay for disaster recovery is fully integrated with Harris automation and a Front Porch Digital Diva system, to provide multi-channel like-for-like replication of the main service, in both SD and HD. Located remotely from Vertice 360’s main facility in Madrid, the disaster recovery system uses duplicate playlists and content files stored in a backup archive, which is kept synchronized with the main content store. “The Vector 3 MultiPlay system provides all the playout automation functionality that we need to guarantee seamless continuity for the channels if the main facility fails or requires maintenance,” Grupo Vitelsa provided the integration services for the DR and archiving facility, working closely with Vector 3 to meet a demanding schedule and the challenge of integrating the new facility with the main site’s infrastructure, without disrupting the live broadcast schedule. Custom development for the project achieved a tight integration with the Diva and Harris systems used by Vertice 360. Vector MultiPlay is Vector 3’s system for multichannel broadcasting applications, combining the flexible benefits of IT-based technology with the on-air reliability broadcast engineers demand. Scalable channel-by-channel to any size of operation, MultiPlay renders the traditional master control room obsolete by minimizing the need for video equipment. “MultiPlay is an exceptional platform for multichannel broadcasting either in the main facility or – as at Vertice 360 – for a complete replication of the channels in a backup facility,” said Glyn Bartlett, Head of Sales for Vector 3. “Vertice 360’s new DR system provides the failsafe service that broadcasters require for their premium channels.” Further information on Vector3 and its products is available at http://www.vector3.tv/ About Vertice 360 Vertice Trescientos Sesenta Grados SA (Vertice 360), based in Spain, is a subsidiary of Avntiz Group and is primarily engaged in the production, post-production and distribution of audiovisual products.
