May 28, 2012 - PRLog -- “Give your money to a cheap wedding photographer that you have found on the Internet and they may not even be in business when the date for your wedding comes around.”

Mark Klumper, owner and principal photographer of Xpose’ Wedding Photography sends a warning to newly engaged couples to do their research and that cheap isn’t necessarily better.

“If an Internet photography business is undercutting the current market prices by a large margin, it is a bad sign, as any business has to make enough money to keep running. If they are not bringing in enough money continually, to run the business, it will collapse. And collapse with your hard earned cash, leaving you no time or money to book another professional photographer.”

He is warning newly engaged couples to only employ full time professional photographers as they live and breathe photography as it is their trade and professional. The internet photography under-cutter may work at a bank or shopping mall during, and just doesn’t invest enough time in professional development; the under cutters really should be an apprentice to the professionals.

Mark has seen many wedding photography businesses come and go over the years.

“I try and get involved when a business collapses or a photographer does a runner, I know a large network of photographers, we offer free reshoots or get discounts from local suppliers to help. With the help of the network we recently located a run away photographer, the Fair Trading Authority has subsequently raided them and seized their computers. It looks like the couples involved will now get their wedding images. The photographer was a good photographer, a dreadful waste of talent, they just didn’t know how to run a business.”

Mark is bewildered as to why a couple will spend $20000 plus on a reception and then try and skimp on their wedding photography for $1000. He says that $2000 is a good staring price with a photographer that then charges per page for your album layout, you may spend between $5500 and $9900 for a complete wedding album.

“The less you spend, the bigger the risk.”
