May 25, 2012 - PRLog -- On May 15, 2012 Bank of America announced that for a limited time, they are offering enhanced relocation assistance payments to qualified California homeowners who initiate a short sale without an offer could be eligible to receive $2,500 - $30,000 in relocation assistance and owe no more on their mortgage with the short sale of their property

Laura Lake, A Certified HAFA and Distressed Property Expert (CDPE), believes “Bank of America is taking great lengths to help distressed homeowners avoid foreclosure in California.  Providing this enhanced Relocation Assistance Payment to the homeowners, will help with relocation costs and can even be used to help pay escrow items, such as past due HOA Fees, a fee the banks will not pay for in a short sale situation.”

The Laura Lake Group has been working with Bank of America since 2009 in obtaining approved short sales for her clients.  “We have a good relationship with Bank of America and can help homeowners in the Palm Springs area, including La Quinta, Palm Desert, Indio, and Bermuda Dunes navigate through the bank’s process to obtain a “pre-approved” short sale, get the relocation assistance at close of escrow and avoid foreclosure”.

“It’s a concern of mine that so many distressed homeowners in the La Quinta area don’t know or fully understand their options to avoid foreclosure.  If they act as soon as possible, even before missing a payment, they can avoid the embarrassment and credit problems of a foreclosure.  Banks now more than ever are working with their borrowers to come to a solution that works for all parties.  Not calling your lender to discuss your options is just a big mistake”
