May 15, 2012 - PRLog -- Imagine going to bed knowing your website was ranked number one in Google searches and waking up to find your site fell to page 5 the following day. This business horror happened to an Orlando-based orthodontist who heavily relies on his websites to drive traffic to his practice.

Thousands of people and businesses experienced the same nightmare the orthodontic practice faced, and many are still feeling the ripple effects of not being easily found on Google. Google changed their website ranking algorithm. Penguin, the new algorithm, dropped thousands of websites in an effort to weed out spammers and junk sites.

Joel Goldstein, president of Peer Marketing Group suggests people ride this wave. He states, “In Google's efforts to weed out spam websites and landing pages they have devalued many honest and credible websites. They targeted sites that were over optimized, and have had a lot of pushback from the most recent change after their last algorithm Panda.”

Google is known to consistently update their algorithms. This is not the first change to the Google algorithm, and it will not be the last. The best way to stay on the top of a Google search is to keep your content up to date, and have other websites share your link. If you have been impacted by the latest Google algorithm update keep your head up and your rank will rise again soon.
