New Developments In African Trade Market

The Foundation for Democracy in Africa pioneers new era of global trade with the Africa Trade Development Center

May 1, 2012 - PRLog -- After ten arduous years, The Foundation for Democracy in Africa (FDA) has finally accomplished its goal of establishing a bilateral trade expansion center, the Africa Trade Development Center (ATDC). The ATDC was designed to serve as a trade hub to support market development and expansion for Africa’s small and medium enterprises in the US and other markets in the Western Hemisphere, using Miami as the gateway.

Located in the Miami Free Zone, ATDC provides training and technical assistance to select manufacturers and producers from Africa and the US.  ATDC also assists in product promotions and helping these companies establish sustainable distribution networks for their products across markets in the US, the Western Hemisphere and Africa; thus contributing to the expansion of US-Africa trade and economic ties.

In 2010, Africa’s collective Gross Domestic Product (GDP) was $1.7 trillion with consumer spending estimated at $800 million. By 2020 Africa’s combined GDP is expected to top $4 trillion with consumer spending projected to reach over $2.6 trillion and its population reaching over one billion people, making Africa a considerable market for US companies and investors.  The ATDC is sure to facilitate the concept of Florida becoming the gateway for US-Africa trade, investment, and tourism as pioneer stakeholders in the African trade transformation.  For more information please visit www.democracy-africa.org
