Atlanta Author Kicks Off Book Tour Vegas Style
Las Vegas, renowned for its casino-hotels, shopping and fine dining was the perfect backdrop for Atlanta Author, Lori Beard-Daily and her book tour of her debut novel, Destination D.
The author discussion and reception was held on January 27 at the Southern Nevada Museum of Fine Art. The museum is also known for its International Contemporary Masters Exhibition and features artists from around the world. The New Ways Writer’s House hosted the event.
“The museum welcomed me and my book with open arms and was well publicized through local newspapers. I also had an opportunity to be interviewed on one of the Las Vegas radio stations,” she said. Beard-
Destination D is based in Atlanta and is about three women who become friends during their days at Spelman College. They make a promise that they fully intend to keep. Life steps in; the promise gets broken and ultimately leaves each of the women to grapple with the life-altering choices they have made. Their decisions lead them down unpredictable paths in both their personal lives and professional careers.
“Lori is a dynamic speaker and she really connects with her audience. She was able to weave her plot into real life situations during her talk. The museum had a wonderful turnout. I really enjoyed the book and meeting her in person was an added treat,” said Dr. Venetta Whitaker.
“I enjoyed Lori’s presentation as well. She was thoughtful and gave a lot of inspiring writers a lot of prospective,”
