Keith Myers, Cedar Rapids Resident, Announces Participation on Data Cleansing Team

April 10, 2012 - PRLog -- Keith Myers, Cedar Rapids Produce Operations Manager for Nash Finch, was recently tapped as a key contact for a massive data-cleaning project his company plans to undertake. As a result of this work, the company will be able to run much more efficiently and use its computer systems to much better effect.

"I have some experience working with databases and computer systems," says Keith Myers Cedar Rapids. "While my work has been mainly with produce, and with corporate customers who buy produce in bulk, I have dabbled in programming and I know quite a bit about how computer systems should run."

This interest and experience makes Keith Myers Cedar Rapids an ideal choice for this large and important project. His long history with the company might have also played a role in his selection.

"I worked with Nash Finch long before I came to Cedar Rapids," Keith Myers says. "I originally accepted a position with Nash Finch in 1986, when I was asked to manage an extremely high-volume retail produce department. While we used computers then, of course, we didn't use them nearly as much as we do now. So I've been there at the beginning of the computer revolution. I've seen how these systems have grown and developed."

Data cleansing involves looking through individual entries in a database and making sure each entry contains accurate and detailed information. The work is important, but it can also be a bit tedious.

"There's no question that walking through all of this data is going to be a massive undertaking, and that much of the work won't really be exciting," says Keith Myers. "Cedar Rapids alone has thousands of entries, so looking through the entire company's works is going to be extremely time-consuming."

But, Keith Myers Cedar Rapids is happy for the opportunity to help in any way he can.

"It might sound cliché, but I believe in this company and I'll happily do any task I'm given," says Keith Myers. "I was raised to respect the company you work for, and to do your job without complaint. If they want me to work on data systems, that's just what I'll do and I'll be happy to do it, too."

In addition to his work in Cedar Rapids, Keith Myers donates his time to Meals on Wheels. He is also a devoted member of his church, and he enjoys spending his time with his family and friends.
