March 30, 2012 - PRLog -- The National Ski Patrol (NSP) has teamed up with the Breckenridge Outdoor Education Center, 71st OD GP (Explosive Ordnance Disposal Group or EOD), and Int’l Assn of Bomb Technicians and Investigators (IABTI) to present the first EOD Wounded Warrior Week at Breckenridge, CO last week (19 – 24 March 2012).

The EOD Wounded Warrior Week has been established to provide a sense of freedom to those who are routinely excluded from activity due to a disability or special need, and rekindle relationships with the Military and Civilian EOD community and establish new ones with the National Ski Patrol, as well as providing a chance to help warriors heal, reminding them of their roots (EOD family), assist their transition and see their worth to others like NSP and Defense Contractors.

The NSP supports the EOD Wounded Warrior Week, providing training, education, escorts, instructors, companionship and fun to wounded veterans who want to stay engaged and active, after returning from active duty.

Ending a week of activities, learning and fun, the NSP presented the final day of the EOD Wounded Warrior Week on Friday.  The program included avalanche training specifically designed to appeal to these retuned EOD warriors from the Army and Air Force and a civilian Bomb Technician from a Texas Police Department. Gear from NSP sponsors, and other activities like rock climbing and skiing were also on hand.

Thank you to all the Sponsors who make EOD Wounded Warrior Week possible: Beaver Run Resort, Summit County and Breckenridge Rotary Clubs, Breckenridge Brewery and Sevens Restaurant, Polarmax, Hestra, Hydroflask, Adventure Medical Kits and Smith Optics.

The next EOD Wounded Warrior Ski Week event will be held in January 2013 at Breckenridge.  If you would like to help, please contact: http://www.boec.org/contact-us/ or http://nobombs.net/
