March 30, 2012 - PRLog -- Hartford, Connecticut – The chief executive officer at Portable Oxygen Concentrators today announced the company is now offering the XPO100B XPO2 Portable Oxygen Concentrator at discount prices. The company is scheduled to add more products to their line up by the end of the summer along with helpful how-to and informative articles and guides.

A Portable Oxygen Concentrator is also known as a POC and it is used to provide patients with oxygen therapy. The devices produce an oxygen level which exceeds the concentration of atmospheric air and they are almost the same as a home-based oxygen concentrator but they are a little smaller for portability. This allows the patient more freedom to leave the house and travel to medical appointments or to run errands.

The portable oxygen device is approved by the United States Food and Drug Administration so it is safe for people to use. In fact, the FDA approves all portable oxygen tanks which are used in the United States to protect consumers against faulty devices and unfounded claims.

“I got my portable oxygen tank about three months ago and I just love the freedom. Before I could never leave the house because I had to stay near my oxygen but now I go out to eat and shopping.” – Linda Arce

POCs have been available to the general public for several years but the past models have been excessively bulky and not nearly as reliable as those currently on the market. The older models were also not allowed to be used in aircraft which was a main concern of manufactures.

However, since the year 2000, the reliability of the devices has increased in both practicality and efficiency. They are able to be charged using a house outlet or in the car using a vehicle adapter. They can also be used through the use of batteries so that they can be used when no outlet is available.

About

Portable Oxygen Concentrators are small handheld devices which gives oxygen therapy to patients who need help in order to breathe normally. These concentrators are used for patients who require higher oxygen concentration than the normal air we breathe while on the go. Contrary to what we see in hospitals and clinics wherein oxygen acetylene tanks and respirators are big, bulky machines, these oxygen concentrators are home and travel-friendly and patient-friendly as it is small enough to carry.
