Deaf or Hard of Hearing Loss Can Be Tough To Take

March 20, 2012 - PRLog -- Hearing loss can be a hard thing to admit to. We have all heard the excuses - "Everybody is just mumbling!" or "It's just really loud in here!" Truth is, many of us lose our hearing gradually and we either don't know it or we don't want to deal with it.

Since we have such a hard time either noticing or admitting to our hearing loss, many of us are truly missing out. Missing out on what are friends and family are saying. Missing out on good conversations. Missing out on what is happening on TV.

Studies show that one in seven Americans over 50 who have hearing loss have a hearing aid. That means that the overwhelming majority of Americans who could get a hearing aid and improve their quality of life are not doing so.
