By: Neil Barrall March 19, 2012 - PRLog -- It’s sensible business practice to keep your expenses as low as possible, and especially during times of austerity. No-one likes paying more than they have to!
• Don’t you just hate it when you buy something and then find the same thing at a better price in another shop? • When booking a hotel, do you go online to compare prices and find the best deal? • And, when ordering office stationery, do you choose the supplier who offers you the most competitive rates? You may think you’re tied in forever with your current telecoms provider. You’re not. At the end of each contract term, it’s wise to shop around. Whether you have an 0800, 0844, 0845, 0871 or 03xx number with BT, Virgin Media, Telewest or anyone else, changing provider could save you 40-60% on your current bills. As well as saving on the costs of rental and minutes, you can also add functionality and increase your call rebate with another supplier. Yet many people stick with the same network, perhaps through fear of what hassle it might be to change. You might be surprised to find how easy it is. The 08/03 porting process usually involves just three simple documents: authorisation document, porting request form and a recent invoice from your current supplier. The porting process should be complete within a month and there will be no downtime. Note that you don’t have to change your phone number; it just gets ‘ported’ to the new provider. Would you stay with your current car insurance provider on renewal if you found one that offered more for less? Of course you wouldn’t! So remember, once you’re outside your telecoms contract, there are always other options available. This article was submitted by Neil Barrall - Managing Director at Telecoms World PLC.
