MediPurpose Names New VP of Engineering, Bob Gremel

March 16, 2012 - PRLog -- ORANGE COUNTY, Calif. and ATLANTA -- MediPurpose(r), a master medical product distributor and manufacturer, today named Bob Gremel as its new vice president of engineering.

Gremel brings more than 30 years of experience in medical device design, development and engineering to MediPurpose.

Most recently a consulting medical device engineer at Delta Medical Device Engineering, Inc., Gremel has held related management and senior positions at Safety 1st Medical Inc., Edwards Life Sciences, Medtronic Cardiopulmonary Systems, and Pfizer Inc.

MediPurpose was founded in 1999 when Yi and his brother-in-law introduced an innovative fingerstick device, the SurgiLance(r) safety lancet, that they developed in Singapore. Shortly after bringing their fingerstick to the U.S. medical product market in 2000, the company flourished as its flagship medical device gained popularity.

In 2010, MediPurpose introduced another innovative medical device that was also developed in-house, the babyLance(r) infant heelstick. Gremel is currently leading a redesign of the heelstick device, which is expected to be introduced later in 2012.
