ShaSa Resort Welcomes Culinary Wizard Chef Ik as its New Guest Chef for Spring 2012

Chef Ik, as he is popularly known in Thailand, has been labeled as the Thai version of the world famous celebrity chef Jamie Oliver. Tall, dark and handsome, with chiseled features, Chef Ik has become a huge hit with the ladies in Thailand, but he has one thing going for him that his counterpart Jamie Oliver doesn’t – Chef Ik is currently unmarried, raising the hopes of countless female fans across the country.

Upon receiving the invitation to become the guest chef at ShaSa’s premiere Siamese Brasserie, Beyond The Sea, Chef Ik enthusiastically accepted the offer.  Keen to embrace the chance to demonstrate his culinary skills to tourists from all over the world, Chef Ik commented that “when asked to design signature dishes on Samui’s sunny beaches, I really couldn’t see why I shouldn’t!

Chef Ikk and his culinary magic will grace ShaSa Resort for the next four months, from March until June of this year, giving diners the opportunity to sample a range of appetizing dishes prepared exclusively for Beyond The Sea.

Diners will be able to whet their appetites with Chef Ikk’s delicious tasting appetizer, Melon Salad with Goat Cheese & Parma Ham Surprise. Chef Ikk says that this dish is the perfect appetizer for summertime – it comes with several different varieties of melon, disguised with the finest cuts of Parma ham to give diners the most joyful surprise with each and every bite.

Moving on to the main entrees, Chef Ikk has prepared a tantalizing Seared Scallops with Grape & Cucumber Gazpacho, combining the sweet and sour flavor of fresh grape fruit with the refreshing taste of cucumber on a plateful of perfectly seared scallops.

Also on the menu is Chef Ik’s Grilled Sea Bass Served with Thai Style Galangal Sauce with Vanilla Beans. A new take on a traditional Thai favorite, this dish delivers an authentic taste of Thai cuisine at its best.

Chef Ik’s dishes have been designed especially for ShaSa Resort and Residences guests this summer, providing mouth-watering watering refreshments for those beach lovers looking to escape the sizzling summer sunshine.
