March 15, 2012 - PRLog -- Advanced Practice Strategies (APS), a leading provider of education solutions for risk management and patient safety, today announced they will host an exhibit at the Association of periOperative Registered Nurses (AORN) 59th Congress in March. APS will highlight its clinically engaging, case-based, highly interactive, and easy to use Surgical Safety Series in the exhibit. AORN’s annual Congress is the largest education and networking conference for perioperative nurse professionals in the world. The Congress boasts 5,000 attendees, and offers over 100 education sessions, networking, and career building opportunities in six days.
APS’s innovative Surgical Safety Curriculum, developed in partnership with AORN to empower nurses in surgical settings, improve communication within surgical teams, and reduce the risk of surgical errors, will be highlighted at booth number 3256 at the Congress. Each course in the curriculum addresses the primary drivers of risk and medical malpractice claims and provides practical guidelines to help surgical teams avoid or quickly respond to technical errors, OR preparation errors, and patient positioning errors. The curriculum includes courses such as Reducing Error in the OR, as well as a series of Surgical Toolkits such as Colectomy, Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy, and Inguinal Hernia. Additional APS courseware covers topics in patient safety, obstetrics, internal medicine, and core risk content.
APS will also highlight their Demonstrative Evidence Group (DEG), the leading provider of compelling jury education strategy through high-quality, case-specific medical illustrations, x-ray enhancements, and multimedia presentations to complement expert testimony.
“APS is proud to support the AORN 59th Congress and its commitment to perioperative care,” stated John Harrington, APS founder and chief mission officer. Mr. Harrington will be present at the APS exhibit to field questions from attendees.
