Power Publisher’s New Release – When Mala was a Kid by Malvika Yash DekhaneHaving more than 25 books published in Marathi and English for grownups and children, Malvika has recently written a story book, named When Mala was a Kid. Though meant for children, there has been, in no way, a childish treatment in the narrative.
By: Power Publishers A favorite pastime of grandparents is to narrate stories to their grand children. A group of tales is invariably about the antics of their own children as babies or kids. Children also love to hear about their parents and the familiar persons, when they were children. By imagining their idols of childhood as children, they can easily associate themselves with them; and thereby can judge their thoughts and actions themselves. Thus, such kind of stories be it in form of books, or films, or oral lullabies, do affect the children. What seemed irksome thirty five or forty years ago is now amusing and entertaining. The source of the stories of When Mala was a Kid, are author’s mother’s orally told tales to her kids. Many a times she narrated the tales of Mala to her grandchildren. The narration started in the third person & continued that way. The children, of course, enjoyed the stories. But they became immensely surprised, as Malavika recalls, when they found out that this Mala was no figment of imagination but their mother! This made the stories much more exciting to them. Hope, many a little child will explore their own mothers through When Mala was a Kid. About the Book: Book: When Mala Was a Kid Author: Malvika Yash Dekhane ISBN: 978-93-81205- End
