March 13, 2012 - PRLog -- PALO ALTO, California, March 8, 2012- On Thursday, March 29 at 11:00 a.m Pacific / 2:00 p.m. Eastern, Mark Gaspers, U.S. Energy Manager at IKEA North America, will join AltaTerra Research to share his experience helping IKEA deploy 31 MW of solar across 85 percent of U.S. based stores by the end of 2012. The online briefing, "Corporate Solar Power Strategies:How Leaders are Moving from Experimentation to Scale,” will also feature Pete Kadens, President of SoCore Energy, who will provide insights from working with leading organizations such as Walgreens, JC Penney and Kimco in developing onsite solar electric systems across a portfolio of locations

"Leading corporations and institutions are now making broad, organization-wide commitments to on-site solar power. This contrasts with single-site ‘pilot’ installations made in previous years. With steep declines in solar panel prices and a changing incentives landscape, these organizations are seeing solar power become more financially viable across a growing range of locations and building scenarios,” said Don Bray, President of AltaTerra Research. "As the solar industry continues to mature, leading commercial customers are evolving their solar procurement strategies related to scope, evaluation, financing, installation and communication.”

In this 90-minute interactive online briefing, Mark Gasper of IKEA North America will provide real world insights on how and why IKEA is now installing solar at locations throughout the U.S. He will also discuss key drivers, which motivated IKEA’s decision to install solar, challenges along the way, and lessons learned throughout the process of deploying solar.

Pete Kadens of SoCore Energy will discuss key considerations for organizations deploying solar, including:

How are corporate solar procurement strategies evolving in response to lower panel prices and changing market dynamics?
What financing options and ownership models are available for procuring solar? What are the relative benefits and drawbacks of these options?
How organizations are evaluating a site’s suitability for solar?
What strategies are organizations using to deploy solar organization-wide?
AltaTerra analyst Eric Paul will introduce the presentation with an overview of the current corporate and institutional marketplace for on-site solar electric systems, key trends, and market drivers.
