Small Business Development Center Adds Advisors

March 8, 2012 - PRLog -- CAMARILLO, Calif. –Three business advisors with expertise in developing cash flow, productivity, accounting and taxation have joined the Small Business Development Center of Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties. Terry Gubatan, Sara Caputo and Nicholas Galuzevski are among the Economic Development Collaborative-Ventura County’s SBDC roster of approximately 30 advisors offering area businesses free one-on-one consulting and workshops to help their businesses grow.
“Terry, Sara and Nicholas have specialized skills that will help the SBDC expand our already comprehensive range of services available to area businesses,” said Ray Bowman, director of the Small Business Development Center of Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties. “All three have impressive business backgrounds that will be a valuable resource for our SBDC clients by helping them overcome challenges and expand their businesses.”
Gubatan has a decade of alternative financing experience that has impacted small businesses from startups to those with revenues of up to $20 million. He helps SBDC clients develop cash flow, creative ways of raising capital and using untapped sources of lending to turn businesses around. He is a resource for EB5 capital, factoring, purchase order financing, credit card lending, commercial and residential loans, asset-based loans, incubation funding, private equity, probate funding and energy financing.
Caputo specializes in assist¬ing SBDC clients with general business issues, productivity and time management. In 2003, she founded a consulting and organizing company that provides productivity coaching and training. Caputo has led training courses on time management, change management, productivity, organiza¬tional outlook and coaching for Employees University in Santa Barbara County, Santa Barbara City College’s Professional Development Center and Adult Education Program. She is the author of The Productivity Puzzle: What’s YOUR Missing Piece?
Galuzevski assists SBDC clients with accounting and taxation; business plans; forecasting and feasibility; business financing, with a focus on IPO debt and private placement; business startup; general business issues; management and process improvement; and technology issues including IT management, process re-engineering and systems integration. A partner in his own CPA firm since 2003, Galuzevski is a certified public accountant with more than 25 years of combined public and private accounting experience.
The SBDC is funded by the SBA and provides professional business assistance at no cost to businesses. Participating businesses are required to follow a well-defined scope of work and report their economic successes. These SBA milestones are defined as job creation, increase in sales, capital investment, jobs retained and business started.
