March 1, 2012 - PRLog -- (Las Vegas, Nev.) - EngineQuest® (EQ®), a leading supplier of stock and performance cylinder heads and engine components, will be the title sponsor of the 2012 IMCA Wild West Modified Tour. This marks the sixth year EQ has sponsored the tour. The company continues as a general sponsor of IMCA racing where EQ cylinder heads have grown both in acceptance and usage with over 400 racers using EQ heads in multiple divisions.

EQ will continue to provide contingency awards to the opening feature winners in five IMCA divisions and will be on hand at the season ending Duel in the Desert to congratulate winners. New for 2012 is the opportunity for racers to use EQ’s cast iron Magnum cylinder head (Part #CH318B) as a stock replacement for three divisions: Hobby Stock, Northern and Southern SportMod. EQ's Magnum cylinder head replaces a stock 1992–2004 Chrysler 318/360 head and is machined with a pre-1990 LA-style intake pattern that still uses all Magnum rocker parts. EQ’s Magnum cylinder head joins the company's early GM 350 cylinder head (Part #CH350I) as a direct replacement for these same three divisions. EQ’s high performance 23° cylinder head will be available this year in a NEW CNC High Velocity version for use in multiple IMCA divisions.

“Last year was a banner year for drivers using EQ heads," said Eric Haugland, EQ's national accounts manager. "National Stock Car champion, Keith White, utilized EQ cylinder heads in competition. In fact, EQ heads were used by the top 4 drivers chasing the championship title. IMCA has been an excellent forum to prove the power that can be generated from both our cast iron and high performance heads on a consistent week-to-week basis. Our company is looking forward to 2012 and will provide additional support to help anyone running EQ heads get the best possible results on the track”

IMCA vice president of operations, Brett Root, said, "For the past five years, EQ has continued to grow their sponsorship and participation and the result has been a win-win for IMCA, the racers and EQ. It will be exciting to see what happens in 2012 now that their Magnum head can be used as a replacement for stock.”
