Jeremy Clarkson Races Mobility Scooters Through Town Centre

Feb. 21, 2012 - PRLog -- As the presenter of hit Brit TV show Top Gear, Jeremy Clarkson has gotten behind the wheel of the world’s most stunning and exotic high performance cars, taking them for a spin in all kinds of exotic locations. But Clarkson also gets his kicks from mobility scooters, and for his latest thrill ride, he joined co-hosts Richard Hammond and James May in racing mobility scooters through the centre of Avergavenny in South Wales.

Crowds of onlookers watched on as Clarkson, 51, and his equally famous opponents raced neck and neck (but not necessarily very quickly) through the streets. Jeremy looked particularly cold during the stunt; and none too enthusiastic as he rode up the high street.

Richard Hammond looked far happier to be sporting a modified, army inspired mobility scooter. The event will appear in a forthcoming episode of the hit show, and the boys are sure to be back behind the wheel of brand new sports car soon enough. But they did appear to have fun with their mobility scooters race.

Recently Clarkson and the show made the news for slightly less wholesome reasons as the Top Gear India special was greeted with criticism.

Or perhaps his demeanour had more to do with the flack he received due to his antics in a recent Top Gear India Special. The BBC is reported to have received hundreds of complaints following the show from British and Indian viewers who were outraged after the presenter stripped down to his underpants when the show had in fact promised to highlight the beauty of the country.
