Increase Productivity with Defragmentation Software

Jan. 18, 2012 - PRLog -- Although disk defragmentation software has seen numerous changes since Windows first introduced it in 1982.  Yet despite the changes, the Windows defragmentation tool still lacks the capability to fully optimize system efficiency.  As a result, corporate IT has come to rely on third party defragmenters to improve productivity.

Diskeeper Corporation ran tests to compare it’s Diskeeper 2011’s and Windows 7 defragmentation utility.  With a strong focus on the defragmentation and the prevention of fragmentation, the tests concluded that Diskeeper 2011 showed greater benefits in performance than the Windows 7 defragmentation.

The tests also showed that Diskeeper 2011 allowed for more benefits beyond peak performance.  Diskeeper also showed to improve the system’s reliability through the minimization of disk activity.  This minimal effect on the system also increased the MTTF affecting spinning media while reducing the potential for file, system, and data corruption.

Regularly scheduled defragmentation is highly recommended due to its various benefits to system performance, productivity and efficiency.  While the Windows 7 defragmentation utility is effective to a degree, it requires a minimum of 1 scheduled defragmentation per week and must be scheduled while no other tasks are running while the utility tries to play “catch-up” with fragmentation occurring during the previous week.

Since Diskeeper 2011 is able to perform its functions while remaining virtually invisible, Diskeeper enables businesses to continue throughout their work day as the system is undergoing defragmentation.
