A Glowing Review of the Martin Yale 7000E

If you are looking to cut somewhere between a few and a few hundred sheets of paper, the Martin Yale 7000E comes with our highest recommendation in terms of performance and value.

Jan. 18, 2012 - PRLog -- When customers ask for advice in purchasing a low-to-medium volume stack cutter, we usually recommend the Martin Yale 7000E. We are very familiar with this product and through personal experience we can tell you that it is a great cutter for a great value. This is called a commercial stack cutter, not a ream cutter, because it does not have the same capacity as a traditional ream cutter.  A ream of paper (by common standards) is 500 sheets of paper. If you won’t have to regularly cut an entire ream of paper at once, you can save money on your cutter purchase by going with the 7000E, which will still cut a whopping 350 sheet stack for half the price of a ream cutter.

The 7000E is easy to use and very safe. It has a 12” cutting length which will allow you to cut oversized paper with no problem, and  the blade can handle cutting not only paper but stock up to 1 ½” thick. This blade is extremely sharp, but can be sharpened should it become dull with use. We find that safety is a priority when dealing with cutters because of the large exposed blade, and the 7000E has a safety blade latch on it to prevent any accidental injuries. Simply undo the latch to start cutting, because if you don’t, you can’t cut! The latch is simple to maneuver but not so simple that it will come undone on its own; the perfect ratio of safety and convenience.

Precision is always possible with the 7000E, as it contains numerous features that help you achieve the perfect cut every time you use it. A clamp is present to hold up to a 1 ½” stack firmly in place without damaging the paper or stock. Keeping your paper in place is of vital importance when cutting, as it prevents the paper from tearing or shifting, causing inaccurate cuts and wasting that whole stack of brochures, flyers, or whatever else you choose to cut. This cutter’s wooden base has non-skid feet attached to the bottom, ensuring that the cutter will stay in place while you use it and not cause some unintentional cuts. There is an adjustable paper stop to help you perfectly align your materials before cutting them, and both English and Metric measurements are present in the rule guides to help you get the most accurate cut in whatever unit of measurement you prefer.

We usually recommend the Martin Yale 7000E to small print shops and copy shops, as well as schools and places of worship for their personal copy rooms. This cutter will be perfect for anyone who needs to cut more than a few sheets, but under a ream, of paper at a time. The ability to cut 350 sheets at once will save you time and ensure that all of your documents are cut to the same specifications. We have been selling this product for years and give it our solid backing.
