Jan. 3, 2012 - PRLog -- Pre-QA quality planning can be an essential part of any project planning. For instance, in the waterfall process it is generally performed on the stage related to the specifications of the product, gathering of technical requirements and market analysis. These activities help us better understand the expectations of customers and users about the quality of the product in a certain software market in which the product is carried out.

Quality aims can be scheduled and set accordingly. Project planning is associated with the choice of languages, methods, tools and techniques that are used for the intended product.

Project planning has to be supplemented by such points:

•   models and measurements, which will be used to monitor the development process of project and provide the feedback;
•   selection of specific QA techniques.

For spiral, incremental, iterative and extreme programming processes pre-QA quality planning has even more important influence, because it is executed at the beginning of the whole project and at the beginning of each iteration or sub-item because each sub-item involves more or less all the elements in the waterfall stages. Consequently, it is necessary to set specific purposes for each sub-part and choose the appropriate equipment, techniques and models for them.

For normal monitoring and process control, correct measurement activities should be performed for collection or extraction of data from the software process; analyses should be applied to them; and therefore management decisions can be made. Due to the fact that error handling, tracking project or providing specific input cannot be performed without the involvement of software development group, they have to be processed “on-line” during the software development process with auxiliary activities which are performed after the data collection and recording are done.

On the other hand, analysis and modeling could be done “off-line” in order to minimize the possible damages and disturbance of the correct software development process. Nevertheless, prompt feedback is necessary to make corrections to the quality assurance and development activities. Therefore, even such “off-line” activities need to be performed in time, but may have a lower priority.

The particular analysis, feedback, and subsequent activities are an integral part of software project management and they complement the regular software management activities. The target of these quality development activities is the quality management as compared with the total project management that also consists of managing project tools, cost, planning, etc.

All these activities are generally carried out during the entire development process, with various sub-activities performed on different stages. It is most connected to the quality assurance http://qatestlab.com/services/service-models/offshore-sof... activities with checking on the testing stage http://qatestlab.com/services/our-qa-services/software-pr..., different reviews or inspections at the transition from one stage to another and other quality assurance activities located on other stages.

Slight modifications are required to embed quality development activities into other development processes. Nevertheless, the distribution of these activities is not uniform over the activities or over time, which is examined later.
