Dec. 20, 2011 - PRLog -- Positive images of Black Women are lacking across the board in the media and Black relationships represented predominantly on television are a far cry from positive or healthy.

For BlackBride.com, the premier online resource for brides of color, their mission is to provide support for culturally diverse brides and shine a light on real, healthy and loving relationships. "In the wedding industry, you very rarely see women of color featured online, in print, on the bridal fashion runway, or on television," explains Mary Chatman, president of the company. "African-Americans spend more than $1.6 billion annually on weddings. We want to shine the light on brides of color in an elegant, chic, couture manner, while providing them with the best resources in planning the most important day of their lives."

The 2nd Annual Bridal Showcase taking place at the beautiful Atlanta Marriott Marquis on Sunday, January 22, 2012, will be an interactive, live display of cultural love putting engaged couples in direct contact with wedding professionals that will help make their wedding dreams come true as well as "Dispel the myth that Black women are not getting married," says Chatman. "With all the negative media stereotypes about Black couples, we are happy to shine a light and offer a different, more realistic perspective that celebrates love in all shades of color, ultimately promoting healthy families and connecting couples with wedding professionals that understand the value of their dollars."

Brides, grooms and their guests will be able to preview the latest bridal fashions for brides, grooms, and the bridal party featuring couture lines, stately and trendy gowns. One lucky bride attending will have a chance to win a beautiful gown from the Allure Bridal Couture Collection, and another beautiful gown will be donated to Brides Against Breast Cancer, a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping brides diagnosed with breast cancer have a beautiful wedding day experience.

Brides and grooms-to-be will gain their all-access pass to expert wedding industry professionals with priceless advice on planning their dream wedding. Tickets to the bridal show are $15. Brides must pre-register online at, http://www.blackbride.com/bridalshow/buy-your-tickets.php
