Dec. 11, 2011 - PRLog -- As a client facing legal issues, you understand just how important it is to receive top-notch legal representation; however, in the legal field, you normally get what you pay for. Attorney Douglas N. Fox understands that during tough economic times, it’s vital to provide A-grade legal representation at B-level prices. For this reason, for a limited time, his firm is slashing the retainer fee rates for all domestic relations and criminal defense cases by 10% or more. Furthermore, the firm has cut the hourly rate for attorney Douglas N. Fox, ESQ from $275 to $235 per hour for retained work and $250 for post-retainer work.

What’s important to understand in the legal field is that cheaper representation does not usually equal better. The reason people normally retain higher priced lawyers is because they usually get higher quality representation. When you pay significantly lower attorney’s fees, it usually comes with a less aggressive attorney, less experience, less attention to detail and more risk.

When you pay more, you are usually paying for experience as well as high-quality and dedicated representation. If you can match up a high-quality lawyer with B-level rates, then you have a match made in heaven. Attorney Douglas N. Fox understands the position that many of his clients are in because of the economy; therefore, he strives to provide his A-level services at B-level rates, without sacrificing quality in the process.

When it’s your future or the future of your loved one at stake, it’s vitally important to weigh the risks involved in hiring low quality representation. In nearly every case, securing a successful outcome far outweighs the attorney’s fees involved. What Mr. Fox is doing, is seeking to find a balance where his clients can obtain quality legal services, at a reduced cost. He understands how in this economy, worthy individuals are either going without quality legal representation, or they are looking harder for both value and good representation and he is sensitive to that fact.

For family law/domestic cases and protective orders (TPOs) the value pricing is as follows:

•   Retainers fees are based on a number of factors such as the minimum time expected to resolve the case, as well as the level of expertise required to manage the case.

•   Retainer fees may be broken up depending on the individual circumstances, meaning they may include an up-front down payment with a short-term payment plan afterwards.

•   Keep in mind that retainer fees exclude filing fees and service fees charged y the Clerk of Court or by other legal entities.

•   The hourly rate billed against the retainer is $235, a savings of $40 per hour over the previous hourly rate charged by the firm.

•   Once the original retainer has been used, all additional time and expenses will be billed at a rate of $250.00 per hour, which is a savings of $25.00 per hour over the previous hourly rate; however, the firm reserves the right to request another retainer.

There are a number of types of cases which fall under the Value Fee Pricing structure including contested divorce with property/debt division and children, contested divorce with property/debt division but without any children or alimony issues, Modifications to child support, child custody, contempt of court, temporary protective orders and many more.

The firm is also offering Value Fee Pricing; however, it is handled differently than family law matters. Criminal defense work is typically handled on a flat-fee/trial fee bases rather than hourly. The firm offers a wide range of legal support in criminal defense matters under the Value Fee Pricing structure. You are invited to contact attorney Douglas N.
