MetalTech-USA to Clad Metal Panel Systems for Rhode Island VA Medical Center in Providence

Dec. 9, 2011 - PRLog -- The VA Specialty Medical Center in Providence, RI currently provides veterans with essential medical services.  The facility will be undergoing a series of building improvements, including a clinical addition.  

The first two floors of the building will house specialty examination rooms.  Several other floors will be devoted to outpatient mental health services.  A new elevator, an elevated walkway and additional examination rooms will be a part of the expansion project.  Additional accommodations to improve patient experience during transport have also been incorporated into the building design.  

MetalTech-USA will fabricate the MT Flat Lock wall panel systems for cladding the exterior.  The project will consist of an estimated 9,500 square feet of 20-gauge MT Flat Lock metal panels, which will contain a blue gray finish.  

“In order to ensure that the metal panels met precise building requirements, extensive collaboration with the contractor was necessary,” said MetalTech-USA Project Manager Patrick Wheble.

The completed medical facility will be eligible for Leadership Energy and Environmental Design silver designation.  This project is tentatively scheduled for completion in May of 2012.  Rhode Island veterans will have greater access to care once the medical facility structural upgrades are completed.
